Terry DisleyPianist & composer Terry Disley is Miramar Beach Restaurant’s resident pianist, bringing his signature sounds of rocking jazz piano to our dining room every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5pm to 8pm, Saturdays from 2pm to 8pm, and Sundays from noon to 6pm.

Terry has a rich musical history, including an award for London’s Best Jazz Musician of the Year with jazz group Macondo, dozens of appearances at London’s famed Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, opening for Bob Dylan at 5 shows in Tokyo with Dave Stewart & Terry Hall, playing for The Prince’s Trust All-Star Rock Concert at Wembley Arena with Dave Stewart, Candy Dulfer, Bootsy Collins & Bernie Worrell from the legendary group Funkadelic, & two All-Star Rock stadium shows in Columbia with Roger Daltry (the Who), & Dave Gilmore (Pink Floyd). He also played on recording sessions with Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison (including playing for George & guests at his home for his 52nd birthday), Tom Jones, Madness, Terry Hall, Van Morrison, Sir Mick Jagger, Bon Jovi, Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music), Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Billy Bragg & Dee Dee Bridgewater. He composed, recorded & toured for six years as a member of Acoustic Alchemy, a period that included 2 Grammy nominations. He also composed music for the movie Monument Avenue (starring Denis Leary), & contributed to film scores for the infamous Showgirls (starring Elizabeth Berkley & Kyle MacLachlan), Beautiful Girls (as featured soloist with London’s Metropolitan Orchestra), The Ref (starring Denis Leahry & Kevin Spacey), & Crime Time (with Marianne Faithful).

In 2004 he again toured with Acoustic Alchemy, this time as special featured guest, before settling in San Francisco & forming his own group the Terry Disley Experience. This critically acclaimed group has released a string of recordings & performed at concerts & jazz festivals nationally. They also perform local appearances at San Francisco’s premier jazz club Yoshi’s, the Filoli Gardens Jazz Series & Half Moon Bay’s legendary Douglas Beach House.
